Think about creating spaces and opportunities for informal human connection. Can you start the day with a five-minute interactive process – even as simple as conscious breathing? How about reinventing the suggestion box – maybe a gathering in a ‘suggestion room’ – or ‘suggestion time’ to encourage collaboration and experiment? Remember your employees are at the coal-face of client and customer interaction – you as manager now more urgently need to optimise their experience and potential insight.

There’s lots of suffering and struggle in the world, not to mention your personal challenges. Although you can reduce your exposure to news of suffering (actually don’t start your day with your newsfeed), suffering is still inevitable.
